What is Juvelook? How it works, how many sessions, and what recovery looks like

Juvelook · PDLLA4 min read

Juvelook is an injectable collagen booster made with PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid). It does not fill a line the moment it goes in. The particles break down slowly and the skin answers by making its own collagen, so change shows up from around four to six weeks and builds from there. A standard course is three sessions, four weeks apart.

What Juvelook actually does

A hyaluronic acid filler works by taking up space. Inject it into a fold and the fold is shallower before you leave the room. Juvelook works on a different timetable. PDLLA is a biodegradable polymer; once it sits in the dermis it is broken down over months, and that slow breakdown is what prompts fibroblasts to lay down new collagen.

The result is less about volume in one spot and more about the quality of the skin across an area. Patients usually describe it as skin that feels denser and springs back faster. Fine lines soften, pores look tighter, and shallow acne scars can become less obvious.

Juvelook or Juvelook Volume?

There are two products under the same name, and they are not interchangeable.

JuvelookFor skin texture, fine lines, pores and overall density. Usually three sessions at four-week intervals, with results lasting around 6 to 12 months after the last session.
Juvelook VolumeA formulation designed for restoring volume, for example at the temples or under the eyes. Results can last around one and a half to two years.
Typical skin boosterFor comparison: three sessions two to three weeks apart, with effects that tend to last 3 to 6 months.

Which one suits you, or whether a combination makes more sense, depends on what you see in the mirror and what the skin looks like under examination. That is the point of the consultation.

Where it is used

The areas we treat most often are the forehead, under the eyes, the nasolabial area and the temples. Because the effect spreads across the skin rather than sitting in one point, it suits people whose concern is "my skin looks tired" more than "I want this one line gone". Its particles are small and fine, which also makes it a good fit for thin skin under the eyes and at the temples.

How many sessions, and when you will see a difference

For standard Juvelook, plan on three sessions roughly four weeks apart. Most people notice the first change four to six weeks after a session, and the result keeps developing for a while after the final one. If you are visiting Seoul for a short stay, it is worth telling us your travel dates when you book so the plan can be built around them.

Why preparation matters more than people think

The side effects people worry about with collagen boosters, small lumps and uneven texture, usually come down to two things: a solution that was not properly conditioned, and a concentration that was wrong for that skin. Both are controllable.

  • We begin preparing the solution 48 hours before the procedure, so that what reaches the skin is evenly suspended.
  • The dilution is set for each patient rather than taken from a fixed recipe.
  • Every vial can be traced by its serial number and is checked again at the moment of treatment.

Recovery and aftercare

Straight after the injections we gently massage the treated area for a few minutes so the solution settles evenly, often with a cooling pack, which also takes the edge off any soreness. Small injection marks, mild redness or slight swelling are common for the first days and fade on their own. Makeup, exercise and saunas can usually resume within a short time, and we go through the exact timing for your case before you leave.

Frequently asked questions

Is Juvelook a filler?

Not in the usual sense. A filler adds volume immediately. Juvelook encourages your skin to rebuild collagen, so the change is gradual. Juvelook Volume sits closer to volume restoration, but it still works through collagen rather than bulk.

Does it hurt?

It is an injection treatment, so there is some discomfort. We apply numbing cream beforehand and, where needed, add a local anaesthetic injection, along with cooling. Most patients find it easier than they expected.

Can I have it on a short trip to Seoul?

A single session is possible on a short stay, but the full course is three sessions about four weeks apart. Share your dates with us before booking and we will suggest a realistic plan.

How is it different from Sculptra?

Both work through collagen. Juvelook's particles are smaller and finer than Sculptra's, so we use it where the skin is thin and only soft volume is wanted, such as under the eyes and at the temples. Sculptra (PLLA) is usually chosen for deeper, broader volume.
